Netting Bird Netting can be used on virtually any building, large or small. Bird netting can be fitted vertically or horizontally in small or large areas. Well installed Ace Bird Net of the right size, is the only proofing solution which can be offered to solve virtually any urban bird problem. Materials are Polyethylene or Polypropylene netting, with a steel suspension system. The most popular colour is black, but on light coloured buildings, stone coloured netting may be preferable. For more information click the Bird Netting button at the top of this page Point
Systems Avipoint
P4 (2 + 2 wires, strip 33cm long) Both are used for medium to heavy pressure areas for pigeons and gulls. Avipoint G6 (4 + 2 wires) has longer stainless steel wires. More suited to heavier-bodied gull species. The U/V stable plastic base is normally secured using neutral curing silicone adhesive, but can be rivetted, screwed etc. Uses: ledges, parapets, window reveals, cornices, signage, street lighting, bridges and other structures. (Culling of resistant birds may be necessary soon after installation). For more information click the Avipoint button at the top of this page New
- Bird-Shock Flex-Track system (for all sized birds) Bird
Wire System of Birdproofing Uses: Parapets,
ledges, signs, beams, pipes etc. For more information click the Bird Wire button at the top of this page When correctly fitted Bird Brush excludes birds such as sparrows, and rodents such as mice, from gaining entry into buildings. It is fitted to seal gaps at the top, sides and bottom of external doors. Ace Bird Brush comprises bristle brush fitted into extruded aluminium carriers or with flat or 90 degree angle flanges for fixing. The most common bristle lengths are 50, 75, 100, 175mm most in sections of 2.6 metres. For more information click the Bird Brush button at the top of this page Ace BulbSeal - Effective against ALL BIRDS & RODENTS This is a rubberised bottom door seal able to be fitted to most lift-up metal doors. The design of the bulb seal allows it to compress firmly against the ground when the doors are closed, providing a most robust and effective barrier. Suitable for gaps up to 35mm, and available in 30 metre coils. For more information click the Bird Brush button at the top of this page This is a polybutyl gel, applied using a caulking gun, and sealed with a special "skinning" fluid, brush applied. Gel coverage is approximately 4 metres per tube. Bird Gel will provide a short-term solution, provided it is used in light pressure areas only. The Bird Gel forms an unstable surface for birds to stand on. However, to remain effective it will need to be replaced within 1-2 years. It becomes hard, dirty and difficult to remove. Uses: Commercially - for pigeons, starlings on ledges, parapets, signage, beams, pipes, and domestically - on television aerials, pergolas etc, for sparrows, mynahs and starlings
To the top of this page Separate bird cage traps are available for pigeons, magpies, sparrows/starlings/mynahs. These are robust galvanised wire cages. Effective against
pigeons in light pressure areas, Uses: Long ledges, parapets, ridges, girders and signs.
To the top of this page This system is a series of stainless steel wires tipped in plastic fitted on a self-lubricating Delron base. The top rotating part of the Daddi Long Legs is easily unclipped from its base if work is to be carried out on the proofed structure. Two types: 1.25 metre and 2.5 metre diameters. Uses:
Surfaces which require regular access for maintenance, such as silo
tops, air conditioning units, ventilation plants, etc.. (Do not use
in areas which are used heavily by birds during the day, or where they
roost at night or are nesting.) Ace Bird Proofing acknowledge some text and photographs kindly supplied by Sorex. - - - - - Ace
